1 November 2018

Some cleanup on the Jeep. Below are the videos of how I used AMSOIL products.

11 September 2018,

New battery for the RAM, and it's Oil Analysis came back, no maintenance suggested so I could have kept going on that oil, but I think I will stick to the 10k mile interval. If you go over to the Oil Analysis page you can see the results. This week we are supporting the Idaho Rally.

6 September 2018,

The 2016 RAM is due for an oil change again, I pulled a sample for analysis and have sent it off. I've had to put the battery on a charger. Testing in the process to see if it can be revived. It died while we were eating lunch on our last trip back from Washington State. Had to get AAA to jump and it did fine the rest of the trip. Not sure if the batter about dead or not. But I couldn't get it started yesterday. Will leave it on the charger/maintainer until this weekend or Monday.

4 August 2018,

The oil analysis for the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek came back, after 15k miles AMSOIL Signature Series and the AMSOIL Ea oil filter was still doing what they are designed to do, protect. The recommended maintenance action was to perform an oil and oil filter change which I had done after pulling the sample for analysis. The analysis and the instructions on how to read the analysis is available here.

11 July 2018,

Just got back from a trip in the 2016 RAM 1500 5.7l Hemi. It's coming due for an oil change now so I'm ordering the oil change kit as well as an oil analysis kit. I want to have the oil tested and see how it's doing. For the trip here are our stats

MPG Average 16.773

Gallons used 354.2

Miles drove 5945.3

Fuel cost $1150.20

This was high-way most of the time with a load in the back of tools, gear, clothe, and supplies. Had a Subaru door and a Dodge pickup tailgate for the start of the trip.

I'm pleased with the performance of the truck and the fact that the oil level never changed and as of today, I have not had to add any oil to it during the 15,000 miles I've had it.

24 June 2018,

This week I got the rear main seal fixed on the 2004 Subaru Outback, had a problem when I installed one along with the new flywheel and clutch. Now it's running great with no oil leaks. Also swapped out the rear passenger door (and glass) to put on one that didn't have a bunch of holes (not rust). Also found the rear 6x9 speaker had failed so it's out.

Also did an oil change on Jordan's 2015 Subaru Forester, fresh AMSOIL Signature Series and an EA15k filter installed.

Last vehicle work in Omaha was swapping out the rear brake pads on the 2003 Subaru Legacy SE, they had started to grind a little, new pads were called for. Installed the new pads and it's back up and running.

11 June 2018,

2004 Legacy is up and running great, pulling strong through all 5 gears and no hesitation noticed. The new muffler is in but the install will happen in July. Will be doing work on the 2004 Outback next week.

7 June 2018,

2004 Legacy update, the center differential is in new AMSOIL Synthetic 75W90 fluid in the transmission. No issues with the install, but it's not back up and running yet, new exhaust gasket and bolts should be here tomorrow. And I ordered a Flowmaster Super Delta 50 muffler for the Legacy.

6 June 2018,

Working on the 2004 Subaru Legacy this week. Had an issue with it earlier this week that I got fixed last night, a blown 100 amp slow blow fuse (fusible link). Now I'm back to working on replacing the center differential. Will swap out the shift bushing and some exhaust hardware while it's out and accessible.

11 May 2018,

Working on the 2006 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx SS this week, check out the brakes today and will do an oil and filter change tomorrow. Last weekend I did an Air filter swap and oil and oil filter change on the 2016 RAM 1500. Put up a video on that.

6 April 2018,

Wow, this year seems to be going pretty quick. Didn't do my first run with SCCA yet, we were catching up on a few things around the house. Watching some animals for friends and getting ready to put in the split rail fence here at the house.

Not sure when I will get back working the cars and trucks, need to do oil changes on the Jeep, XV Crosstrek and the RAM. I have the motor mounts for the Neon. I also have a lot of parts to put on the Impreza TS as well as new spark plugs for the XV Crosstrek, and for the Jeep I have new brake lines and AMSOIL EA air filter.

11 March 2018,

It's been a busy couple of weeks with appointments, the weather and getting stuff done in and around the house.

We went to the 2018 Boise Roadster Show at Expo Idaho on Saturday. There where some pretty sweet rides there. Got some ideas and took a lot of pictures.

I got my helmet this week for SCCA Autocross, the first run of the season is the 31st of March with a run on April 1st as well. You can check out the entire schedule at Snake River Region Schedule and a lot of parts to fix the Neon (rear struts and springs, motor and transmission mounts) and Impreza (lots of stuff), will be installing these and documenting it on YouTube (will post some pics on Instagram as well). Getting ready to head to Bellevue Nebraska to work on Sasha (1997 Dodge RAM 2500HD) and drive her back to Oklahoma City for Andy.

25 February 2018,

It's hard to believe the month is almost over, been busy Setup the new AMSOIL store site

http://jwcsynthetics.myamsoil.com/

Tested some with AdWorks, got a lot of hits but no customers, oh well. I got the AMSOIL Bypass Filter installed and did an oil change in Sasha (1997 Dodge RAM 2500HD), there will be a video and some pictures of that. I had no major issues did have to extend the oil pressure sensor away from the block so the bypass filter input line could connect. I will be driving her back to Oklahoma next month, after changing the transmission, transfer case and differential fluids. Will be putting in AMSOIL products.

We just got back from a long trip (1,200 miles or 1931 kilometers) with the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek got outstanding gas mileage on that trip, 33 mpg. She just crossed over 10,000 miles (16,000 kilometers) on the last oil change (AMSOIL 0W20 Signature Series and AMSOIL EA15K13 oil filter). Also, need to do one on the 2002 Jeep Wrangler X, the 2016 RAM 1500 will be due in a few weeks as well so will probably be doing another big AMSOIL oil, Lube, and filter order soon.

Will be ordering some parts for the 2002 Subaru Impreza TS and the 2004 Dodge Neon SXT to get them ready for some SOLO racing this year with the Snake River Region, Sports Car Club of America. The TS is going to take some more work so will be running the Neon for a while.

Well, thanks for stopping by.

1 February 2018,

As of today, I am officially retired from the US Air Force. We also had 12 yards (15 tons) of road grade gravel delivered to repair some of the driveway and set up a new parking area. We have also added a new Subaru to the fleet. A 2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5 TS, 5-speed manual. It was a mechanics special in Utah, had a few leaks on the drive back to Idaho but managed 25 mpg on the 300-mile drive.

19 January 2018,

I've been fighting off sickness. Sinus and body aches. Went to the Snake River Region, SCCA end of season banquet and met a lot of the members. We had a great time and are looking forward to racing this year. Working on the AMSOIL business as well, doing some training. Reviewed the work I had done on the Neon and what class it will be in. Ordered the replacement motor and transmission mounts as well as some parts for the rear suspension. First race is the end of March, hope it goes well.

1 January 2018, Happy New Year,

Working on the 2004 Subaru Outback Limited today, it was so cold yesterday that the PCV froze closed and the oil dipstick popped out and sprayed oil all over the driver side of the engine bay. Needless to say, when I got it in the garage yesterday I was tracking down the problem (didn't know about the PCV at that time) and cleaning up the oil mess. Today I will be doing the brakes, changing the pads, rotors, any hardware needed, the parking brakes and the hoses will be flushing/changing the fluid.
